The marina sits in Funchal Bay, the main harbour of the island, 530 nautical miles from Lisbon. It holds 210 berths and a separate mooring area for the boats that run whale-watching and other maritime-tourism trips out of the city; the Port Authority administers it, with day-to-day running by Clube Naval do Funchal.
